Health Checks

Every production-bound system must expose a meaningful health endpoint.

Minimum Standard

• /health must exist.
• The endpoint must reflect the health of the service and its critical dependencies.
• Any authentication, dependency exclusions, or expected degraded states must be documented.

Handoff Rule

Health checks are part of the pre-handoff engineering checklist and must be documented in the handoff package.
